If you are looking for troubleshooting help or wondering how to use our products and services, please check the IBM Watson™ documentation. Please do not use the Ideas Portal for reporting bugs - we ask that you report bugs or issues with the product by contacting IBM support.

Before you submit an idea, please perform a search first as a similar idea may have already been reported in the portal.

If a related idea is not yet listed, please create a new idea and include with it a description which includes expected behavior as well as why having this feature would improve the service and how it would address your use case.

Allow dialog tree's to be copied from one skill to another

Allow for either all or part of a dialog tree to be copied from one skill to another. Currently if you have logic implemented in one skill and want to reuse it in another skill you have to completely rebuild it. The ability to copy useful dialog trees, with options to include all of the associated entities and intents, would be immensely valuable and make development a far less painful process.

Even better would be the option to save useful dialog trees in some globally accessible repository, again with the option to include all associated entities and intents. This repository should then be accessible to you from any skill you are building.

One further extension could be to allow these dialog snippets to be shared between other users of Watson Assistant in a community portal of some kind.

I can understand that technically this could be very difficult to do with all the cryptic node IDs under the covers, but it would be very valuable so more than one developer could work on enhancing a workspace.
